a little disappointed..

not quite as great as Jerry, and the story seemed to end prematurely. But overall, very engaging and well done. Much more meaningful than the usual shtick on Newgrounds.

Really cliche and lacking creativity. The flow was OK but lacked a resolution. Just feels incomplete and rushed.

A couple problems..

First of all, I might be a bit harsh because Hendrix is a legend and one of my personal idols. The main problem I'll mention right off the bat: the audio quality is shit. How could you spend all that time making this animation and then submit it with fuckin AWFUL fidelity. We all have broadband connections, I'm sure no one would have minded if you doubled the file size. I couldn't get past it!

Now the other problems are related to the animation itself. Clearly you were stoned making it because it didn't really make any sense. The images didn't seem to correlate with the song too much except for the bird. I guess it's all up to interpretation, but I was disappointed by the lack of creative elements that match Jimi's lyrics and bluesy emotions.

Overall I can't fault you for my severe disappointment, as I'm sure I couldn't do better on my own (don't have the patience for animation), but I guess I just had my hopes up too much when seeing this submission. Maybe put down the blunt next time until after you finish..? Ah, who am I kidding, that's blasphemy.

Anyway, resubmit this with proper audio quality (160kbit at least), and it will be a massive improvement. Just a suggestion!

Animation

Your 2 days animation work is better quality than most flashes I see. The audio quality was also excellent. I also noticed that the christmas lights are reflected/refracted in the shiny ornamental balls from the christmas tree. Great attention to detail as usual.

Well..

I've always hated this song. Not much you could do about that. But, the animation was great so I'll give it a fair score. Unfortunately I couldn't sit through the entire song due to the extent that it annoys the hell out of me, but I'm sure the rest of flash also had good production values.
